Shortcuts & undo
On Mac / iPad use ⌘; on Windows / Linux use Ctrl. Shortcuts are ignored while you’re typing in an input or text area.
Undo & redo
- ⌘/Ctrl + Z — undo the last action.
- ⌘/Ctrl + Shift + Z (or ⌘/Ctrl + Y) — redo.
- Or use the Undo / Redo arrows in the event header (top of the screen). They’re disabled when there’s nothing to undo or redo.
Undo covers everything that mutates an event — seating moves, table and fixture edits, guest edits, tag changes, applying an AI suggestion, applying a template, importing a floor plan. The history keeps the last ~50 actions, lives only in this browser tab, and resets when you reload.
Selecting & nudging
- Click a table or fixture to select it; click empty floor or press Esc to deselect.
- With something selected, ↑ / ↓ / ← / → nudge it by one grid step. Shift + arrow moves 5 steps.
- Delete or Backspace removes the selected table or fixture. Deleting a table also clears its seats from every arrangement.
- The fit-to-view button (bottom-right of the canvas) reframes the whole room if you pan or zoom too far.
Touch / iPad
- Long-press a seated guest (~½ second, no movement) opens the same context menu as right-click — view details or remove from the seat.
- One-finger drag pans the canvas; pinch zooms.
- Tap an empty seat to open the assign-a-guest picker.
Tips
- Name zones after tags (a “Family” zone for the “Family” tag) so the AI keeps those groups in the right part of the room.
- Set constraints early. Must / must-not pairs guide both you and the AI and prevent awkward last-minute fixes.
- Click-to-assign beats dragging when the list is long: click the seat, search, done.
- Duplicate to experiment — keep a “Final” version untouched and try ideas on a copy.
- Upload a venue plan early. Even a rough photo gives the AI a head start and the reference layer is a great sanity-check.
- Don’t fear undo. ⌘/Ctrl+Z rewinds nearly any change, so try things.
- Print place cards with QR codes — guests scan to see their table on a room map along with their tablemates, and the page stays current even if you reseat someone after printing.
- Invite a viewer instead of sending screenshots. A read-only share link keeps parents, partners, or the venue coordinator up to date automatically.
